I touched on it a couple of times (and I will a lot more into details very soon) I decided to go freelance earlier this year. This has been a major professional change which comes with some challenges and many benefits, one of them being to be able to work from lovely places like Arlo & Moe.
I find that working from a coffee shop makes me more productive. I am there for one thing and one thing only – work. Well… that and enjoy a decent cup of coffee and a tasty and reasonably priced meal which Arlo & Moe does have on their menu.
You will find me either at their Hither Green or Crofton Park branches, both are great and serve as offices to many freelancers, mums and stay-at-home dads!
The decor is lovely with a lot of vintage posters and quirky touches. I particularly love their variety of salt and peppers animals and how bright both coffee shops are. A creative and stimulating space to get the brain juices flowing!
The menu is extensive with plenty of breakfast, brunch and lunch options. All are tasty, fresh, healthy and reasonably priced. My personal breakfast favourite is the granola, it makes me so happy to eat it while doing boring admin tasks.
Arlo & Moe was opened by Jamie and Jules, brother and sister and food lovers. It is very popular among the locals and busy during the week and the weekend (I went very early the day I took the pictures).
They also host a pop-up supper club with guest chefs serving burgers, Asian food, curry, jerk chicken and more. These collaborations allow food businesses that may not have a brick and mortar venue to serve their food to the local community. It is a great way to discover new dishes in a familiar environment AND it is BYOB!
If you happen to visit for a sweet treat, I suggest you try their Guinness cake, it is delicious! And if you see a brunette working on a Mac with a rather serious face (RBF anyone?) it is probably me.
