I have been regularly going to Italy for many years, and every time I go, I make sure to stay in an Agriturismo. They are family owned farms transformed into B&Bs and they really never disappoint! It is usually great value for money, you have the opportunity to try the local cuisine and spend time with the family who will give you all the local insider tips! A great option when you are looking for more authentic experience.
When we planned our trip to Puglia, I immediately searched the web for a great Agriturismo in the region and it didn’t take me long to find Tenuta Yala.
Tenuta Yala is lost in the middle of the vineyards and only a 15 minutes drive from Gallipoli which offers plenty of entertainment and restaurants.
The place is just dreamy…
It is good to note that the owners don’t really speak English or French, so a lot of comical miming was necessary when we visited. It only adds to the charm of the place and you will still make friends with them!
The rooms are big and beautifully decorated. They all offer uninterrupted views of the vineyards. You can really forget which time of the day it is in such a relaxing place.
The swimming pool is the perfect place to make the most of the sun.
And the flat roofs of the farm are the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful Italian sunsets with a glass of vino!
They also have a restaurant on site which serves simple but delicious local cuisine. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any picture of the meals as I was too busy stuffing my face with pasta.
If you are planning to explore Puglia, make sure to make Tenuta Yala your base, you won’t regret it!

Looks lovely. I am a fan of all things Italian and love the Puglia area. Will have to make a note of this Agriturismo. I have a poetry blog here on WordPress and today’s poem (in case you have time to look) is about the clarity I get when I swim. It is like meditaiton for me I suppose. Have a good day, Sam π

Thanks for the lovely comment Sam! I am a terrible swimmer but looking into being a better meditator myself! π
